Terms and Conditions and Refund Policy

PAWsitive Dog Care and Training (referred to as "PAWsitive") is committed to ensuring the well-being of your dog in all situations. However, PAWsitive holds no responsibility for any loss, injury, sickness, or death resulting from negligence on its part.

PAWsitive will not be held liable for any incidents, including Canine Influenza, injury, death, loss, or damage to any animal while under its control or presence.

By participating in training, daycare, or boarding services, you acknowledge that you have read, understood, and agreed to PAWsitive Dog Care and Training's terms and conditions. These terms and conditions are in addition to our assessments and socialisation criteria, which may change without notice. By accepting these terms, you certify the accuracy of all information provided about your dog during registration.

Specific to Daycare and Boarding Terms:

These terms constitute an agreement between PAWsitive Dog Care and Training and the owner (referred to as "the Owner" or agent) of the dog regarding the provision of boarding or daycare services ("the Services") by PAWsitive for the Owner's dog. The Owner declares that their dog utilising daycare and boarding services is registered with the local council and booked in as the breed they are registered as.

Dog behaviour: Any known behavioural conditions and observations have been shared with PAWsitive, such as fear-aggression, social assertiveness, excessive barking, mounting, aversions, or fear of specific breeds or strangers. This information helps PAWsitive ensure the safety of all dogs.

The Owner is solely responsible for their pet's actions and behaviour while in PAWsitive's care, and hereby indemnifies PAWsitive against any liability arising from the pet's actions. The Owner is liable for any loss or damage to PAWsitive's property and agrees to settle all charges before the animal leaves the premises.

PAWsitive is not responsible for any collars, leads, containers, or other articles left on the premises or damaged while in care.

Fees and Charges:

PAWsitive reserves the right to cancel or refuse entry if full payment for a booking is not received.

PAWsitive may change the fees and charges at any time and will provide written notice one week before the revised charges come into effect.

Daycare and sitting fees are outlined on the Daycare page of our website.

Training fees are outlined on the Training page of our website.

Payments to PAWsitive are due two days prior to the specified date outlined in your invoice and should be made via Direct Deposit.

A late collection fee of $20.00 applies to dogs not collected before 5:15 PM. If no contact is made with PAWsitive, care will continue until 10 AM the following day, and a $60 daycare fee will apply. If the animal is unsuitable for continued care or if there is no space, PAWsitive may make alternative arrangements which will be at the owner's expense.

Unforeseen circumstances and late collection: If a stay is extended, payment is required before the dog is collected. If the dog is not collected for more than 48 hours or two days, PAWsitive is authorised to surrender the dog in any necessary manner. PAWsitive will not be held at fault or liable, and any incurred expenses will be invoiced to the owner.

Deposits, prepaid bookings, and refunds:

Deposit and prepaid booking fees are non-refundable unless:

  • Cancellation notification: For casual care arrangements, a written notice or acceptance of cancellation must be provided at least 48 hours in advance. For long-term bookings, a two-week written notice is required if dog care will not be needed for an extended period (e.g., during school holidays).

  • Booking Fee: 15% of the total booking is to be taken out of any deposit made to PAWsitive and is non-refundable.

  • Notification of a major problem: In the event of a major problem where your dog cannot continue with the service, you have the option to cancel the contract and receive a partial refund for any unconsumed services. A major problem refers to situations such as a terminal medical diagnosis, a lost or deceased animal, the owner or trainer being incapacitated, or the trainer deeming the environment unsafe.

Sick or injured: The Owner agrees to pay all costs and charges for special services requested or deemed necessary by PAWsitive, including veterinary costs during the time the animal is in PAWsitive's care. If the Owner's dog/s becomes seriously ill and the Owner cannot be readily contacted, the veterinary surgeon's decision regarding treatment will be final. The Owner is responsible for any resulting veterinary fees and additional charges, and hereby agrees to indemnify PAWsitive for such costs.

PAWsitive reserves the right to refuse entry to any animal. If, during the visit, PAWsitive considers your dog to be unwell or infectious, your dog will be isolated, and you will be notified. Your dog will remain isolated until collection is arranged.

You are responsible for the cost of any necessary veterinary attention during your dog's stay. PAWsitive will try to contact you before engaging a vet, but if there is no response, PAWsitive will take necessary action for your dog's well-being. While PAWsitive is attending, managing, or transporting your dog to the vet, you agree to pay $75 per hour. If you are contactable, you will be required to pay the veterinary bill directly over the phone. If you are not contactable, you agree to pay PAWsitive the invoiced amount plus 25%, as well as invoiced time spent.

These conditions, subject to any alterations by PAWsitive, are available on our website and apply each time your dog is admitted to our care or attends training sessions.

Terms specific to Dog Training Services:

  • Follow the trainer's instructions and regularly practise the training techniques between sessions.

  • Ensure a safe and suitable environment for the dog, people, and trainer during the training sessions.

  • Comply with the training program as outlined by the trainer. Non-compliance may result in the trainer deeming the owner non-compliant, and no refund will be considered.

Aggressive Dog Assessment: For clients engaging in an aggressive dog assessment, the minimum charge is $300 for a 1 to 1.5-hour assessment, including travel up to 30 minutes from Mount Sheridan.

Payment & Refunds: Payment for dog training services is due 48 hours prior to the start of the training program, unless otherwise agreed upon in writing. Accepted payment methods include Direct Deposit. Please note that once a training program has commenced, refunds will not be provided for changes of mind.

Refunds are considered in the event of a major problem, such as a terminal medical diagnosis, a lost or deceased animal, owner or trainer incapacity, or an unsafe environment. In such cases, a partial refund for unconsumed services may be issued.

Confidentiality: We respect your privacy and will maintain strict confidentiality regarding any information shared during training sessions, unless otherwise agreed upon or required by law.
